GMS MODULES
The GMS interface is divided into ten well-integrated, task-oriented modules: GMS Triangulated Irregular Networks, GMS Borehole Data, GMS Solid Models, GMS 2D Meshes, GMS 2D Grids, GMS 2D Geostatistics, GMS 3D Meshes, GMS 3D Grids, GMS 3D Geostatistics, and GMS Map (GIS).
GMS is the most sophisticated ground-water modeling environment available today. GMS integrates and simplifies the process of ground-water flow and transport modeling by seamlessly integrating all of the tools needed for a successful study.
GMS MODFLOW
GMS includes the best MODFLOW interface in the industry. Models can be defined and edited either at a conceptual
model level with GIS objects or at the grid level. All model parameters are easily defined. GMS imports/exports native MODFLOW files.
GMS MT3D
Use a flow field generated by MODFLOW in GMS to perform a transport simulation with MT3D. MT3D models can also
be defined at either the conceptual model level or at the grid level.
GMS MODPATH
Generate a set of flow lines using the results of a MODFLOW simulation in GMS. The latest version of MODPATH (v3.0) is supported.
GMS FEMWATER
FEMWATER is a fully 3D finite-element flow and transport model. It simulates density driven, coupled flow and
contaminant transport in both saturated and unsaturated conditions.

GMS 3D VISUALIZATION
GMS has coupled the most advanced flow and transport codes available with the state-of-the-art in scientific visualization.
From simple 2D contour plots of head and drawdown to fully 3D rendered iso-surfaces of contaminant plumes, it is second to none in graphics and visualization.
GMS ANIMATION
The only way to truly visualize transient solutions is by utilizing animation. The GMS filmloop tool enables rapid
generation of animations depicting drawdowns and head changes over time as well as 2D and 3D migration of contaminant plumes.
GMS GEOSTATISTICS
Use 2D/3D geostatistics to characterize existing plumes or define model input. Several schemes are supported in GMS including kriging.
GMS MAP MODULE
A high level conceptual model can be constructed directly on top of a scanned site map using GIS objects in GMS.
Boundary conditions and parameter values can be assigned directly to the GIS objects. Annotation can be added using a simple set of drawing tools.
GMS SUBSURFACE CHARACTERIZATION
GMS provides an extensive set of tools for modeling the stratigraphy. Bore-hole data can be imported and used to
generate 3D solid models of subsurface features. Fence diagrams and cross sections can be defined to illustrate these features.
GMS GEOSTATISTICAL TOOLS
GMS supports a sophisticated suite of 2D and 3D geostatistical tools. These tools can be used to generate a 2D contour
map or a 3D iso-surface plot of an existing plume. CAD drawings in the form of DXF files can be imported and displayed on any plot.
GMS MESH
GMS can be used to generate both 2D and 3D finite-element meshes quickly and easily. A complete interface is provided
for the FEMWATER model. Boundary conditions and model parameters are graphically assigned. 3D post-processing is provided.
